Hi all ,me again
17 months post treatment and not doing too bad ,apart from ,I've recently started getting red soreness on the side edges of my tongue at the back ,not sure if it's because my tongue has been dry with the weather or that I maybe subconsciously clenching my mouth due to the dryness ? Any ideas ,I've also been eating quite a lot of different things lately !
Thanks Mark
3 years since finishing CRT and I still get a raw tongue now and again, it's very sensitive to some things, food and drink... I don't keep a journal so I don't really know what triggers this, my teeth are quite sharp so maybe this is partly to blame, my dentist is going to buff them down shortly....Biotene gel and difflam usually helps calm the soreness ...the issue disappears after a few days...If you are concerned contact your CNS for advice?

I raised a similar issue with my consultant the other day. I was not worried about the fact that my tongue was occasionally painful for a few days before settling down, but I just wanted to check. He said that many of the nerves in the are of the tumour have been "fried" and that is probably why things flare up occasionally.
I do notice that when I try different foods that can also set off my tongue. But it is good to experiment.
I nicked mine on a piece of crusty bread yesterday. It will be a week at least before it's right.
