Hello all,

I’m back posting here after a long gap and it’s nice to see some familiar names. Hello again everyone!
My husband Michael had a tooth taken out three weeks ago. It set off a huge trauma. The socket is not healing normally and he has developed massive mouth ulcers on his throat, tongue and gums. He’s struggling to eat anbd can’t open his mouth very wide.  Anyone else had this?

  • I’ve popped a question on another thread but here is better. What meds is he having? I would be insisting on the pentoxifylline and Vit E combo plus antibiotics. If he’s already on antibiotics can you check for thrush?

  • They haven’t given him any meds other than for thrush and packing the socket wound. They said there’s no infection and that there is nothing they can do for the ulcers. Really worrying.

  • there’s no infection

That’s not the issue. The issue is vascular fibrosis  delaying healing. The combo helps open up the blood vessels. Is he being seen at the same hospital that treated the cancer? I’d tackle them again.
