You have some rights having been diagnosed with cancer.  Basically your employer has to make reasonable adjustments to your workplace and/or hours unless it is significantly disadvantagous to them.  They would need to justify their decision. 

Macmillan have good advice and it may be useful to contact your trade union rep, if you have one.

sorry to hear this is happening to you.  You do have certain rights under the disability act and as others have said your employer would need to ensure that ALL reasonable adjustments have been exhausted before they look at dismissal on the grounds of ill health.  A lot will depend on what your contract of employment states, who your employer is (public or private sector). If you are in a trade union then seek their advice otherwise speak with citizens advice.
