Hi everybody ,

I've noticed recently I've been grinding my teeth ,not sure why ,but under a bit of stress due to mum being diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

Looking on inside of my cheek I can see white patches along the tooth line ,am I causing trauma to my cheeks during the night ? Anyone know of this?

Thanks Mark

  • am I causing trauma to my cheeks during the night ?

Yes. I do, which is why I wear a night guard.

  • Hi Dani ,

So the white patches are just trauma ,and nothing to be concerned about? ,I've ordered a night guard

    Thanks x

  • You need a proper guard fitted by your dentist. It will give them the opportunity to reassure you at the same time. Online generic guards can do more damage.

  • Hi Mark, please get this looked at by your doctor or dentist just in case. My cancer started with a white patch on my gum which looked like nothing much at all but was stage 2 squamous cell carcinoma. It's much more likely to be trauma caused by grinding but please get it checked. Best wishes.
