Hi everybody ,

For the last couple of weeks I've had the feeling of wanting to clear my throat. It's a weird sensation as it can feel like it's my chest that needs clearing. I have been getting a bit of reflux after meals ,but not a lot to warrant gaviscon etc . There's no mucus coming up. Someone mentioned to me about LPR . Which has some of the same symptoms. Has anyone experienced this ? It's more annoying than anything ,I will bring it up at my next 3 month check up in a couple of weeks.

Just wondering if this could be another late side effect ?

Had some issues with LPR, soon disappeared, I put them down to slight PEG intolerance.

Hi Mark, there is a condition called Globus sensation, which is not a serious thing, it gives similar symptoms that you have described. Like you say let them know at your next check-up, for peace of mind.

Hi Mark. I also have the same feeling that I need to clear my throat fairly often but it also feels that it is down on my chest. This happens especially after eating. I get a bit gurgly in my throat too but it is not a chest infection. I put it down to my ops and radiotherapy as it has been a fairly long term issue with me. It is just something that is now part of my new normal. However I am fairly wary as I don't want anything to develop into a chest infection.

I do hope your issue clears up but always best to get these things checked out by the specialists.

Hi Lyn , thanks for replying ,it's another thing we have to accept I suppose , but will get it checked next appointment.
