Hi everyone ,
Been getting a weird feeling on tongue and throat , really hard to describe.
I have been trying different spicy foods over the last month, also started having the odd beer. Was wondering if that could be irritating my mouth and throat ?
I get this feeling I need to clear my throat a lot ,like a post nasal drip thing going on. When I got discharged from oncologist last week ,she had a look but said all was ok. I still think my hayfever may be playing a part in this but not sure .as I can't take anti histamine because it dries my mouth up too much. Anyone had this post treatment, I'm six months along now.
Thanks all Mark
Hi Mark it could be well e try to keep a food diary. I got burning toungue syndrome and keeping a diary I pin pointed my triggers . Which for me was anything fermented cheese, yoghurts pickles ,mustard citric and acidic I still have no tolerance for any spicy or or alcohol but that’s just me the majority can eat spicy food alcohol in moderation and try to keep, off spirts 6 months is still quite early maybe scale down on the spicy foods for a few weeks and see how younget in

Hi Hazel, thanks for your reply ,what's burning tongue syndrome? Does it cause post nasal drip sensations? I already keep a food diary ,I will look back and see if there are any definite triggers.
what's burning tongue syndrome
Just what it's described as . A hot fiery tongue. I suspect after RT it's a type of neuropathy.

Base of tongue cancer. T2N0M0 6 weeks Radiotherapy finished January 2019
My tongue used to be extremely red and cracked if I ate the triggered foods all the papillae on my tongue were raised and sore. . It lasted around 2 years then went as quickly as it came. Can’t say I noticed nasal drip but I did get acid reflux which is similar just after treatment finished. Take omeprazole first that. I would ask gp to check as they are very similar gerd and post nasal drip. Msny if us have gerd ( acid reflux ) after treatment.
