Hi Everyone,

Yes my hayfever has started ,usually because of tree pollen . Not had chance to get anti histamine yet . What I'm finding is , my throat is getting a bit mucus then gets a lot more  drier than my new normal , anybody else get bad hayfever which affects the throat or is it another part of my recovery process?

  • Hi Spider3, in the past I would normally get hay fever. A few years ago I had nasal polyps removed and I lost my sense of smell but the hay fever remained. Last summer when I was in treatment things changed. My sense of smell started to return and the hay fever was a lot less intense. I still get nasal irritation and itchy eyes, however it's a lot milder than previously. The mucus is still there but the lingering dry mouth problem from the radiotherapy seems to be making that aspect a lot worse. It doesn't seem to shift as easily as before treatment. My GP has suggested that I try a sinus rinse designed for post-nasal drip. I've not been brave enough to take that step so far.

  • Local honey is worth trying.
