  • Hi. Pam

    Sorry lots of questions

What are you doing for the oral thrush?

What are you managing to eat? Have you tried something different recently?
Are you still doing your throat/ jaw exercises?

Can you remind me what/where your cancer was and what treatment you had ? ( If you have time it would be really useful to put this info into your profile)

  • Hi Dani, I have tried the bicarbonate powder and also salt water rinses.I also use the green mouthwash and have been prescribed fluxanazole today for 2 weeks. Hpv tonsil cancer and was told no evidence of disease in Nov after 30 RT course

  • The Fluconazole should do the trick. Thrush is likely the cause of your sore throat. When is your next review?

  • Next check is May but Dr says if no better after course ends to see her( hopefully f2f ) as my surgery is a nightmare to try to get seen

  • I’m sure it’s nothing serious but it won’t hurt to phone your CNS to request your next review is brought forward. GPs are absolutely no good in this situation.
I was seen twice outside my normal check ups. Believe me your consultant won’t mind at all and will likely just put your mind at rest.

  • Hi agree with Dani gp s rarely are on the ball with our cancers. I’ve always been told they the hospital  would sooner see us than us worry and wait. I’ve been signed off 2 years now as in 7 years but last words from consultant were if I’ve ever any issues contact them not ho. It’s likely oral thrush that’s giving you issues the flucozonole willclear it you may need another course. But in meantime contact cns to see if you can be checked. Peace of mind more than anything.
    hugs Hazel.
