I’m 18months post treatment. I’ve just started a new job after 2 years of not being able to. However, it’s in a whisky distillery environment and already only after x2 shifts, my throat is so sore and I’m producing extra gunk. The air is full of dust and ethanol and alcohol vapour and we’ve been advised to drink plenty of water and to expect a dry, stinging sensation to our lips and nose area. I’ve emailed my oncology nurse for advice as to whether this is going to be safe or detrimental to my ongoing throat health.
any points of view would be welcome
thanks so much xxx
I think you have done the right thing asking your CNS for advice. It sounds like the environment is not really conducive to the trauma our throats go through. I am 13 months post treatment and still very sensitive to the environment. I suspect many of us are. Adding additional irritants into our throats probably is not the best thing to do.

Hmmmm not for me. Sorry I can’t offer anything constructive. I don’t suppose anything short of a respirator would protect you.
Makes you wonder about the rest of the workforce.
