I have developed really sore lips since finishing radiotherapy and wondered if this is just another side effect of the treatment. My treatment finished in September and I did have a good result but have not felt well since and seem to have aged about 5 years! Sue
Yes it’s due to a lack of saliva. I was the same for a long time. I used a home made beeswax salve. There are plenty in the market so just find one that suits.
Try not to keep licking your lips which just makes it worse.

Thanks Hazel it’s taken far too long to feel better and I just want to get back to eating out and enjoying a glass of wine. I’m in my 4th month now and still eating mashed up food, custard and mash and gravy. I’m so fed up xx
Hi Sue I know you won’t think it but it’s early days for you, as we say its a marathon nit a sprint. Easy for me to say but you’ll get there I was on what I would call nursery food for a good while. Ready made mince dishes from marks and Spencer with lots and lots of gravy and mashed veg supplemented with the odd ensure was standard fayre. As did wine I hope it will come back for you I can now do a very weak gin and tonic with lots of ice. A friend it mine prefers champagne or babycham he can’t do wine neat but mixed with soda water he can.
the blistex works for me.
