  • So good boys get vaccinated at school now but need to let the ones that missed out on that who are still able to get the vaccine aware they can.  It’s a shame Rhod Gilbert doesn’t keep making awareness. I know he did at stand up to cancer. I guess needs to go in tick toc and stuff like that but I’m too old for all that hahaha

I do feel Like  speaking to my doctor and saying they need to get it on their Facebook page

  • I know it seems unfair but it’s the JCVI that make the regulation. The NHS ( GPs and Pharmacies implement it.
All we can do is spread the word as best we can.

  •  ’m working with a cancer charity Oracle that are looking at tick  tock  to get the kids involved . It all takes time and money. I did the video which is aimed at parents to make them aware. Sadly since coviid there’s a lot of vaccine hesitation around. We all must do our big to raise awareness. Our grandson did a talk at high school in his class about how I xsnt est s Macdonsld’s due to my cancer. It’s his aim to get me to eat one !!!
He told all his friends and it seems like hus class had a pretty good attention for the vaccine in January.

  • Wow well done to your Grandson that’s such a brave thing to do. Yes I’ll write to my GP and cancer centre and se if they will make more awareness. I do notice as soon as I tell people what the treatment is like they take notice. To be fair I had no idea how important the vaccine was until it happened to me.

What would work better is having somebody who has survived throat cancer do an assembly every term at every school. The trouble with social media is that if something pops up that you’re not interested in you can get rid without really looking at it.
Try that suggestion on oracle. A laryngectomee would work best because they have a better visual impact.
It should be a paid post because it would be hard work.

  • Yes it was but like he says he was 7 when j was diagnosed he knew nana had a poorly throat.  Wr told him when he was 10 that I had had cancer and my treatment. He knew the HPV vaccine could help prevent him getting the same cancer. He was asked to do the video but to be fair to him he didn't ferel comfortable with that. We didnt pressure him either. Was happy he did it at school

  • Super stars.  Well done both.  I thought HPV cancer was cervical and therefore female - until I was diagnosed.  So good to raise awareness.  I do tell all my friends to get their children vaccinated.  When I was going through treatment,  I met several men with HNC HPV+ but not one single female. There were women there but they were being treated for other cancers.
