After a visit to my first 6-monthly review for my original throat cancer today, I left with a sickly feeling in my being.
The doctor was extremely helpful in explaining my new circumstances, but truthfully stated that nothing could or would be decided until the results of the bronchosocopy (EBUS) are known - bronchosocopy is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon.
It was the "Incurable" and "Palliative" words that put me backwards and started the wheels in my head whirring. Anyway, we just have to be positive and be hopeful.
Take Care,
Bob
As you know Bob, palliative means keeping comfortable and pain free it doesn’t mean end-of-life, though palliative care is used at that time. I curable means you’ll have to live with your cancer but lots manage for years. I have a contact who was in the same position as you who is now in his sixth year of nivolumab. So chin up and fingers crossed you can yet have a long life. It a real bummer having to wait so fingers double crossed
Hugs
