Saw my team today, I contacted them only two weeks ago so great response as always; been having dificulty swallowing and pain on the left side of my throat plus I thought I felt a new lump in that area. They've agreed (by feel) that it is new and is about 2x1cm, though visual and endoscope looks showed up nothing obvious.

There was no consultant present in the clinic (was two CNSs) so they're going to have a word and send me for either an untrasound, maybe with biopsy, or an MRI in the next couple of weeks. I've had quite a few "scares" like this over the years so trying not to worry too much, most of them have been nothing sinister (apart from the two that weren't) so hopefully this'll go the same way.

(Goes off to research immunotherapy trials....just in case)

  • Hell Mike. You could do without this. After all you’ve been through you deserve  a rest. Fingers crossed it’s nothing but at least they are on the ball with an MRI. Hugs

Fingers crossed.  I hate it when they do that to me, but it is best to have positive confirmation that all is OK.  I think we are much more acutely aware of changes that "ordinary" people will just ignore as part of life.

  • Well here's a twist. I fell on Sunday night and broke and dislocated by left upper humerus, bloody agony.

So I find myself on Otter ward again, where I was in 2013 and for five weeks in 2020. Ward round this morning was hilarious, staff doing a double take when they saw me. Nobody knew because I only goGrina bed at 5.30 (long and painful story... even my cancer consultant dropped in for a chat; and as they were doing a CT this afternoon he asked them to extend it to the neck so I got two for the price of one Grin

  • Crikey Mike. You couldn’t make that up. I hope you’re not in too much pain. How on earth did you fall?

  • I was in a hotel in Ross-on-Wye and woke needing a pee at around 4.00am, didn't turn a light on stupidly and tripped on something. Didn't hurt immediately but an hour later was dreadful, then I was awake for more than 24 hours before the bed was found.

I crazily drove the hundred odd miles home one handed before a taxi to hospital.
