Hi all, in week 5 day 2. Just lost my voice. Annoying. How long might this last. Post 6 weeks perhaps?

  • Hi Steve, yes, I lost my voice in week 3 of my treatment, it returned fully about 7 to 8 weeks, post treatment. After about 6 weeks of not speaking, I spoke 1 evening as we were watching TV, it made my wife nearly jump out of her skin, she hadn't heard me speak for so long. Don't worry your voice will come back.

  • I was very croaky after treatment. Voice was rubbish in the morning but improved by lunchtime

  • Lost my voice for about 10 days.  Gradually returned. Weeks later my throat is very sensitive, my voice gets worse thevmorecI talk and, comes and goes.  I'm under the SALT. Probable damage from RT. Going to have a video....something. It videos your throat and neck as you swallowvmight give hint of problem. Also seeing consultant tomorrow to get post 12 week treatment up date.  Tonight I am truly terrified, just want to live without fear hanging over my head constantly!!!!!  X

  • I hope you will be alright.

  • Video procedure sounds like Nasenoscopy -  A flexible camera that goes up nose and down throat and neck.

Its a weird sensation and not always comfortable but shouldn't be painful.

Hope it went well and that they gave you results straight away
