Hello - Just a quick update on my post-treatment scan results after seeing my oncologist this week - All Clear Slight smile

It's the best Christmas present I could've wished for! My oncologist was really pleased and said it's exactly what we'd hoped for. So now onto checkups every 3 months.

Looking back over these past few months I don't even think I've started to process how grueling the treatment & recovery were at times. but it was worth it - head down and plough on through! I'm eating pretty much everything but smaller portions (not a bad thing) and taste buds seem to be getting better each week (apart from chocolate doesn't taste of anything after 2 bites, but I can live with that!).My dry mouth is definitely helped by popping in a XyliMelt each night and plenty of water throughout the day. My oncologist says I'll continue to get improvements on taste & saliva over the next 2-3 years. So, altogether not bad at all!

I have a bottle of Champagne in the fridge but it'll have to wait until my cough and cold subside because I want to taste it properly ;-)

Wishing you all a lovely Christmas and a blessed new year Kissing heartPray

  • Thank you Hazel - I really will enjoy this Christmas and it's going to be quite busy too. My family are with us on Christmas day, then we're away for 4 days at the coast in Llandudno... a twix-mas break I booked months ago when I was feeling sorry for myself and needed something to look forward to! And we're with Martin's folks on New Year's.

I hope you and your family have a great time too xxx

  • Ah thank you Dani - It's hard to imagine this all happened in just 1 year, so much to work through but got there in the end with lots of help from you and many other lovely people on here!

We're off to the coast between Christmas and NY; I booked a hotel some months ago in the hope I'd be mobile enough and eating a bit ... well, that turned out to be a safe bet, as I feel great (while managing some fatigue and a bit of brain fog .... which could also be perimenopause Joy)

Have a wonderful Christmas and the very best for 2023.
