LED light treatment?

Hi, I had cancer of the jaw. Under lower front 5 teeth. On 26 may 2022 I had a major 9 HR operation to remove it, plus all my lower teeth bar some molars and lymp nodes.  Later had 6 weeks of every day radiotherapy and once a week chemotherapy which was not so bad. But the radiotherapy has now led to type 2 lymphoedema. My treatment for this involves MLD and LED light treatment. Has anyone had experience of buying their own light to treat themselves. The one the clinic has is over £1000 but I've seen them for £400. Are they any good?

I'm also trying acupuncture but have read some positive notes on the ear acupuncture. Anymore notes on this please

  • Hi Germolene. LED treatment. Do you mean photobiomodulation? It might be worth approaching The Swallows Charity who work with the company who make them. You might be able to get one on loan.

As for the acupuncture it certainly helped me. There are a couple of posts about it in my blog. Auricular means ear and it seems to be the definitive treatment though there may be others. It's what I had had and involved needles in my ears.
