Morning everyone just an update on things had my pan panedoscopy and bilateral tonsillectomy yesterday got home at 3.30 pm yesterday afternoon was a really weird experience but loved the sleeping bit , wasn’t able to sleep last night as kept gagging on throat think it’s the swelling they wasn’t able to get all of the mass from of my throat so waiting to see what happens but surgeons said would probably need chemo and radiotherapy on that as well as lymph node but will find out on the 19th , hope everyone’s doing ok on here and if anyone can share best ideas for sleeping position and pain management and what they found helped I’d appreciate it , also can I use codene , ibuprofen, and panadol soluble together

many thanks Tim

  • Hi Tim. You could try sleeping half sitting up propped up on pillows with Matt be one of those u shaped ones. I slept like this being pump fed and soon got used to it. Pain relief. Take it by the clock rather than waiting for pain to hit. Best wishes

  • Oh and if you’re taking codeine take laxatives. Important!

  • HunTim Chemo radiotherapy is the gold standard route so don’t stress about that. If I can do it anyone can. I was on cocodomol  and oramorph during treatment just make sure you have movicol or laxiodo and codeine causes constipation which is last thing you want. Keep taking it by rote don’t wait for pain to start I had a spread sheet and ticked off my pain relief.
