Hi everybody sorry it’s been a long time , I’m now 6 months post treatment for soft pallet , uvula & lymph node cancer I’m doing quite well apart from nearly everything tasting of cardboard & not being able to eat some things still ( I could murder a burger & chips ) I tend to go for sweet stuff now , plenty of cream & custard , I will get there .I’ve put on a bit of weight but it’s been a struggle getting over 7 st 4 I’m 7st 8 now but I was only 8st 2 anyway & not a big eater , other than that all is back to “ normal “ I’ve had 2 follow up appointments & all seems well , let’s hope it stays that way ! Hope you are all well
Hi Aly great to hear from you , it does get better promise. It’s still quite early days for you just look how far you’ve come from those first few weeks after treatment.Baby steps will get you there many if us found sweet things easier in the first 6 months.I struggled with mince for ages could only do processed mince ie ready made spaghetti Bol, lasagna shepherds pies etc. but given time and perseverance starting with getting my butcher to double mince it I got there and so will you. Tomorrow I’m at ent will hopefully be my 2 nd to last one, time does fly by. Plus gravy gravy gravy or sauces with most things , now eat more or less normally also spicy evades me..
Hugs Hazel
