Had my NG Tube fitted Tuesday, it took a day or two to get used to it but it's ok, having my formula at night, that way my days are 'free'.

Back to the hospital tomorrow to have my mask made and a scan, then i start my Radiotherapy in about a couple of weeks.

I can't help thinking that two weeks of therapy isn't going to be enough to get rid of my cancer. My only options were two weeks of Radiotherapy or no treatment.

Not feeling hopefull

  • Hi Catmarel. What has your team said. If you are down for radical radiotherapy then that’s with curative intent. They are the only ones that can tell you what’s going on.
A quick call to your CNS should clarify matters. It should also be clear on your consent form. You should have a copy.
    Best of luck

  • I have had an aggressive tongue cancer which resulted in a 3/4 removal, double neck dissection, flap creation from arm, trache and grafts,.I am now down for radio and chemo soon to mop up the residual cells. I do not say that to compete as no two cases are alike but perhaps at one level, that is the right treatment for the size and type of cancer you are facing? As Dani says, CNS will know more and are great in these difficult times. I hope it goes well.

  • Hi GeneS & ,  They had intended operating and doing grafts etc, but my team decided i'm not fit enough to get through the operation, even a scaled down one GeneS & i would never think you are competing Relaxed. Now you mention it Dani, i think something was said about the the two weeks being an 'intensive' course of therapy, I have to call my CNS today about something today so i'll double check with her. Having an off day and brain going into overtime, thanks both of you.

  • I know how you feel! Got my rt/chemo start date today (14/12) so we can swap war stories as we progress. Good luck and no such thing as a silly question or quibble however minor. x

  • It would be nice to swap stories, hope all goes well with you  Blush
