Hi
I completed my radiotherapy in May 2021 and I am told i have to wait 9 months before they will do anything about my tear ducts.
I had an appointment today at the eye hospital and was told the options are LCR or Lester Jones tube.
I was told because of the radiotherapy and scarring and inflammation that it was unlikely the LCR would be successful so i asked why we could not just jump straight to the Lester Jones tube and i am now being booked in for various scans to see what the areas looks like and what would be the best way forward.
Did anyone else have this issue and have any experience of LCR or Lester Jones tube?
Hi Beelzebub
Welcome to the forum, and saying hello to you. I have read your other post too - well done for getting through treatments and making good progress into your recovery.
I don't have the exact problem as you, but do have a watery eye where I had my operation and treatments which involved some of the sinus area. My problem started happening 5 years down the line, my bottom eyelid droops a bit which I believe is the cause of this. This was apparent after my ops and treatments finished. I could have had a procedure for this but for me I did not look any further into it as mine was manageable. Some days are better than others with this and certain environmental factors can make things worse. I know for me it is very irritating when it is at its worst. I use eye drops too when needed as I have also been diagnosed with dry eye too. It is good you have now been seen by the eye doctor so they give you the advice you need to help manage this till you get something done for this.
Wishing you the best with getting this fixed.
Nicky
Hi Nicky
Thanks for your response.
Like you certain factors make it worse for sure. The problem I have is I am usually looking at a screen for 10-14 hrs a day and I wear varifocals which means my vision through my eyes becomes a nightmare and i am having daily headaches.
I am bad when i sit down to try to unwind with a read a book as i take off my glasses and hold my book way too close to try to manage the issue but that is not feasible all the time.
Congratulations on hitting 5 years that is my next target.
