Hi Everyone,

Just a question please......

I completed my 35th Radio & 2 Cisplatin chemo 4 weeks ago now. I am still bringin up lots of phlem despite using a nebuliser regulally.

Can anyone advise when this calms down a bit?

My feeds are still going thru the NG tube, but Ii am now drinking more & experimenting with soft foods. But the phlem & spitting into tissues does not seem to be improving at all.

Is there anything more I can do to try & help it along?

Hi Inwas prescribed carbusistine to try and then the mucus down in recovery ut worked to a certain extent. In my case itbwas around week 7 when the mucus went as quickly as it came to be replaced with dry mouth.
well done of soft foods keep experimenting.

Good to know it will calm down, as its very frustrating at the moment.

I have an appointment with the rehabilitation team on Friday so will ask about Carbusistine.

I will keep trying the foods..but very disappointed that coffee still tastes salty

Hi Yve. I took the attitude food is fuel and eat to live not live to eat. It helped me. Coffee for me was out of reach for a good few months but I i dip a custard cream ir Jaffa cake in and get the kick that way it did return. !!
