Exactly 3 years after I was put on the 2WW pathway and I went for a routine ENT follow-up today and guess what... Suspicious "bump" under my tongue at the base. Pre-op done. Panendocopy slated (TBC) for next Wednesday. I could really do without this! Everything crossed that it is nothing.
Fingers crossed, Peter, that it’s something benign. You e been through the mill with this. Let us know how it goes. We’re all rooting for you

Had the same myself last month Peter, panendoscopy to check for a potential third occurrance. Mine was clear (with provisos), hope you get the same, or better, outcome.
More than nine years now I've been playing this game, I'd prefer some table tennis if I'm honest.
Everything crossed for you.

Hi Pete
Not the news that you want to hear. Hope it turns out to be nothing. Trouble with a cancer diagnosis is that you are always on the alert for anything further that might be suspicious and turn out to be another cancer.
Like we always say early detection is the key.
Good luck with the scan will be thinking of you and wishing you a really positive outcome.

Feeling better about life today - was just a bit of a shock yesterday. The examination was very rough and uncomfortable - not that it was the consultant's fault it was just where he had to get into with his fingers and was very thorough. That said the scoping was the least uncomfortable I have ever had. Like the last time I had absolutely no idea there was a potential issue. Those regular checks are vital to our health!
I know I've replied to a couple of posts recently about the decision to have, or not have radiotherapy after surgery. I can confirm that my view has not changed in my particular case. I am glad that I did not have radiotherapy. I understood the statistics and made my risk based choice. If I need it now, then I've had 3 good and safe years without the side effects
