So after dentist referral, 1st appointment at Addenbrookes today.

Looks as though we are at the start of our cancer journey. Consultant took a look, definitely cancer although nothing else known atm. Head x-rays done.

Will be getting appointent for MRI, biopsy. In our hearts we knew it was cancer but it's still a blow.

  • Hi Ses. I knew mine was but there’s always that chance.
You’ll both feel better once a plan is in motion and that won’t be long. There will be a whirlwind of appointments. Your best friend will be your allocated Clinical Nurse Specialist. They will be your conduit to your treatment team.
Make sure you have their number and email and make sure everything is explained so that you understand.
Good luck. Stick with us and we will help you through.
And stay off Google unless you know exactly what you are looking for and understand it. Too much inaccurate and out of date alarming  info there.
    Ask us or your team.

  • PS. You probably know this but get to your GP for some help with booze and smoking. They will both impact survival chances

My first husband was an alcoholic. I know how hard it is. He was diagnosed with cancer. Stopped smoking straightaway but the drink was much more difficult.

  • Hi Ses. Welcome to the club no one wants to join. As Dani says  keep off Dr Google you’ll scare yourself even more. Take it one day at a time it’s a tried and trusted pathway you will be following. Any questions just shout out someone will always get back to you. It will be easier if yiu can pack the smoking and drinking in get some help as during treatment you’ll nit be able to easily do either. Plus it’s better for the final outcome.
