So 2 weeks in and have left hospital. Stitches and staples are out of arm neck snd abdomen. Starting to feel a bit more normal. Waiting in results of lymph nodes etc..
Food is going OK. Pureed is fine. Trying to have a little more but alot of teeth taken out so finding this really hard.
Did anyone find recovery went well and started driving or back to work quite quickly. Trying to get an idea of what to expect but not been told anything really. Follow up isn't until 4th October.
Had partial glossectomy with forarm free flap replacement. Skin graft from abdomen and also partial necksectomy

Hi Fiestaone
Glad to hear you are managing so well. That’s great.
When I had a partial mandibulectomy in 2013 I was able to go back to work on a phased return about 6 weeks after the op and started driving about 4 weeks after the op.
I am now retired. It took me longer to get back on my feet this time after my first maxillectomy in 2019. This time it was about 8 weeks before I felt back to normal and about 5 weeks before I felt able to drive again.
Take it as it comes as you will know when you feel able to drive again. Your surgeon should be able to guide you about when you should be able to return to work.
You have to be patient as the recovery can take a while. If you start some light exercise that will help.
All the best for your recovery.
