Hi, 7 weeks after treatment… I had my ENT appointment -he was optimistic about my treatment but I so anxious about PET scan. T4 - what chance I have? I been told at the beginning of the treatment I got 20%…i spending my days in pyjama watching tv , scare to do stuff… I getting better, don’t crying much . Some days I even feel happy?.
can’t eat yet -so frustrating, can drink water. Tried yogurt- disgusting . I do difflan, salty water, it’s helping a little…I read about aspirin and propolis but I don’t know how to use it.can’t find any information . I asked my GP - wasted time.
Can you please advise? I always find here the best support xx
Hi Barbara
Well done on getting through so far. I know you must be upset but it seems a waste to hide away rather than trying to get on with life and healing. Could you maybe ask your GP for counselling? Macmillan offer six free sessions too
Here’s a link
Propolis comes as a mouthwash. You can get it from Amazon. You take four or five drops in a small glass of water twice a day. Spit or swallow. Use soft water or else you get a propolis scum on the top of your glass
Aspirin is used to numb your mouth. You use soluble aspirin as a mouthwash and spit it out
I hope you start feeling a little better soon.

Hi Barbara
It is great that some days you are feeling happy now, hold onto that. Worrying is not going to change anything and is wasted energy and you need what energy you have for your recovery.
Start taking some small positive steps towards your recovery. Take a very short walk, do a small task around the house that you can manage, anything that is one step towards your recovery and takes your mind off things. T.V. is fine for a while but now you need to start to quietly challenge yourself within your fatigue levels. You might still need naps during the day but you will start to feel more in control of your life if you can tick off a small task every day.
As Dani has suggested some counseling through Macmillan may be helpful at this time. They have such a good understanding of the cancer journey.
You will get there, your taste will improve and the path will become easier but you have to give it time.
Sending you hugs.
Lyn

Hi Barbara. 7 weeks ys still early days. Baby steps start by doing something every day if onky a little walk then give but further. Don’t concentrate o. The what ifs you’ve done your big you’ve completed treatment. Food snd drink will slowly return. You can’t influence the pet ct scan you’ve done what you had to. My mottos one life live it. The happy days hopefully will get more frequent. Take Dani’s suggestion about the free counselling they are the experts. I use the propolis and slowly I have noticed improvements even 4 years down the line.
