Hi everyone sorry I haven’t been on here for a long time , I’m doing very well apart from my struggles eating certain foods but I’m trying different things to see if my mouth tolerates it , getting bit sick of pasta had my PET CT scan today wasn’t too bad , I’m still radioactive as we speak ! Another hour to go .My dog thinks I don’t love her ! I have my first appointment at my own hospital next week , I’m dreading them telling me the results , what if treatment hasn’t worked or what if they’ve found it somewhere else I’m going to have to keep myself busy , hope you are all well .13 weeks post treatment xx

Thank you , I must admit I’m so scared Elaine , I had it done yesterday & today I had a reminder from the hospital of my appointment next week , not sure if it’s coincidence or if they are making su I go as it’s not good , I also had a message on Patients Know Best noting the test & saying they will share the results in October , surely they haven’t checked them that fast ? So much going on iny head x
Hi Aly,
Your scan could have been reported on the day of the scan if was an early one, but generally it would be within around 3 days max for the report to go back to your consultant - they have a contract with that sort of timeframe in. We've been there and know how it feels, the waiting and the mind wandering to dark possibilities. I am sure that it will almost certainly be good news. We are all rooting for you to get the scan that shows nothing of concern - just remember that the scans can show other things going on - for example mine showed an infection under a molar which I then decided to have removed so it did not impact on any further scans.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
