Hi everyone , had another call from the hospital and my MRI has been cancelled this afternoon as the machine has broken down (Apparantly it's happening a lot at William Harvey hospital) the team have reeboked me at another hospital but can't get in for a week so 2August it's very frustrating and disappointing when I had geared myself up for having it and getting another job ticked off before I get the results . I know its nobody's fault but inside I'm so bloody angry why do things have to be so difficult.
Try not to worry. I had a long interval between diagnosis and treatment, 2 months, and I’m still here.
I really do sympathise though. Covid and it’s ramifications have upset so much diagnosis and treatment. I never wanted cancer but I’m so glad I got it before Covid. Hospitals are up in arms that the NHS salary increases are largely coming out of existing budgets and they have been asked to look at making economies in diagnostic pathways. It beggars belief.

Yes. The whole thing needs a shake up from the ground. But who is going to have the courage to do it?
Hang on in there. There’s light at the end of the tunnel. We just have to be more proactive than we are used to.

The diagnostic machines will be on a repair contract from the supplier. Potentially the spares are in short supply - we all know about the electronics shortages - or the service staff have covid. None of that helps get the diagnostics sorted to help determine the right course of treatment, but it is only fair to lay out the reality.
The salary increases happen like that most years but are then "paid back" through increases in contract values and other methods. However, this year it may be a little more difficult to square the books. But I heard that for each of the 20 years I worked in/with the NHS...!
I’m just eaves dropping on the consultants’conversations. That and the pensions debacle.

Hi try not to stress a week in scheme of things won’t make a difference. From starting the cancer pathway to first day of treatment I was 63 days. But I first felt the lump in March and was away in Spsin thought I had pulled a muscle so ignored it until mid May. It won’t be helping you mental health just try to keep calm.
