Hello , finally on week 11 I had my feeding tube removed and now slowly trying different foods and fluids I still drink Forticip replacements . Was so nice finally being able to drink a nice cuppa tea again after so long without. I am managing soup and bread soaked , also the odd desserts . My throat is still bit sore on and off and mouth gets dry am finding I’m drinking a lot more water to ease it . Small solid foods can be hard work swallowing so try avoiding at moment do manage egg ok as soft . My tongue feels dry often too . Anybody else have these effects, and any advice on eating certain foods and easing occasional throat discomfort would be appreciated.
Well done Ozzer.
Add cream to your soups. Philadelphia in scrambled eggs makes them less grainy. Avocado on toast ( easier to eat than bread as it dries your mouth less) topped with a poached egg. As far as meat goes a rare steak is easier than a well done one. Lamb stew with plenty of gravy is the easiest meat. Chicken us difficult to start with but thigh meat with plenty of gravy is doable.
The effects you describe are normal. Just needs time.

Has Dani has said most if what i was eating as well toast definitely easier you May not think so but the cooking if it alters the texture lots of butter. Crumpets as well. Plus dunk a custard cream into your tea or coffee inwa never a dunker but needs must.
This booklet may help with ideas . Smoothies with peanut butter added. Plus eat smaller meals 6 a day instead of 3. Porridge for breakfast or ready break.
Well done on week 12

Thank you all for advice, have managed swallowing ready break (took me back to my childhood) will try crumpets soon , all another stage to overcome slowly . Should have scan appointment soon hopefully to see if treatments have worked .
Hi You’re welcome. My scan was almost 18 weeks the longer they can leave ut the less likely you are to still have hot spots. It’s unusual for treatment to fail ,pso keep positive and pop on here with any questions

Hi Ozzer I’m at 16 weeks post treatment and agree with all the advice so far. I have found the small Warburtons brown loaf very light and easier to eat when dunked in soup or toasted. Panna cotta deserts nice and creamy and soft. Muller fruit corner full fat yoghurt has been great and I’ve reverted to chicken cuppa soups. Also the pasta in a mug have been a good small meal. I’m heading for the pet-Ct scan tomorrow …so fingers crossed x
