Finally I'm ready to start treatment on Monday 28th March. Seems a long way since I first susspected something in October 2021.
Since Ive been diagnosed around 5 weeks ago its come thick and fast, especially over the last week. Teeth extracted and feeding RIG fitted.
Its also been the first time with the feeding RIG that cancer has put a stop into my exercise regime.
Onwards and upwards now and ready to smash it through 6 weeks of radiation and 2 sessions of chemo.

My main cocern is the state of the NHS, 13 hours sitting in a chair while waiting for a bed!
Oh dear has that already happened ! It’s rare that any of us need to be hospitalised I know a few had to be admitted when struggling with eating and drinking. Best advise I can give you is you’ve got your peg so when or if yiu get to stage yiu need to use it use it. My ng tube was my lifesaver all medication and feeding plus water went in via that. It left me free to concentrate in trying to maintain swallow but not at risk if not maintaining nutrition and hydration.
Good luck for the 28th if u can do it at 61 so can you.

Once your treatment plan is in place you really will feel better about it and you'll be able to concentrate on what you can do not what you might have to do. Good luck with your appointment
