Hi,Bucephalus here. This is the latest review updated.Original voice box cancer has gone after 30 RT sessions which ended 5 months ago in October.Still have a sore throat frequently, but a small price to pay in my opinion.Spoke to consultant who was not worried about it after scoping area.Unfortunately after CT scans it was fond that I have in my lungs,a small right lower lobe pulmonary nodule of 4mm and several mm ones,it shows lung Emphasema. No treatment at the moment, just regular CT scans to monitor. Also squamous IGD in the OESOPHAGUS and non erosive gastritis in the stomach.Photos and biopsies taken, now awaiting results to see what treatment or operation is/maybe required. So initial cancer at the moment cured but not out of trouble yet.Do not see the point of worrying about any of it because that will change nothing and you only make yourself more ill if you do.IT IS WHAT IT IS.Easy for me to say I know because I live a alone with close family 300 miles away ,that's just the way I am,plus apart from the neck bandage, which was wonderful,I have not had any real problems until now, sore throat aside. As I have said many times talk to your team, they have seen most of it before and can make life more comfortable.I have nothing but utmost praise for the team at James Cook Hospital Middlesbrough and now those at North Tees Hospital. So until the next update, bye for now.Take care.

Great attitude Raymond, I applaud you....I like to think mine has been similar in recent years, possibly not so much in the early days.
Having faith in your team is vital also so that's brilliant; I love mine to absolute bits and had my normal "VIP" treatment for my appointment on Tuesday, being sat in the waiting room when every member of staff from the receptionist to the consultant stops for a "chat" just gives me a good feeling.
Hope all goes well for you.
Metastatic SCC diagnosed 8th October 2013. Modified radical neck dissection November, thirty-five radiotherapy fractions with 2xCisplatin chemo Jan/Feb 2014. Recurrence on larynx diagnosed July 2020 so salvage laryngectomy in September 2020.
Hi Raymond. Good news that the cancer has gone. I have a couple of lung nodules that are kept an eye on. Static and no treatment. I gather they are common in old folk especially if you've had a chest infection in the past (pneumonia for me)
If you have oesophageal dysplasia ask them about Radio Frequency Ablation or mucosal resection. I have a friend whose Barretts was stopped in its tracks with RFA and PPIs. She's alive and well 10 years after diagnosis
Keep plugging on ....
