Hello , have now completed 2 weeks of radio/chemo , after first week had constipation bad but thankfully after going back in for weekend visit to hospital they checked me over an gave me laxatives /Movical this eventually helped so that was a relief as very uncomfortable, caused by medications.  Also in week 2 suffering from bit of sore mouth and tongue went discoloured ( thrush ) so not so good , team have provided me with certain meds so hoping symptoms will ease soon ? Taste is now coming and going along with loss of appetite, all symptoms of the treatments I no from other peoples accounts of  there experiences . This commencing week I’m to have a NG tube fitted as a precaution for feeding so another challenge , must keep the weight level .

  • Hi Ozzetr. From what you’re saying you’re in track with many of us. I had n g tube fitted end of week 3. Keep on top of medication remember you can put it in via tube when it’s gets too hard to take orally. My n g tube was a life saver if you need it use it. The movicol can go via tube as well. Take the painkillers by rote don’t wait for pain to start once it’s started keep topping up. I ended up with spreadsheets for meds and feeds.
