Hi everyone , on Monday I had my Mask fitting along with a CT scan was an unusual experience all clever stuff , although I felt bit anxious it wasn't to bad but certainly helps if you can totally relax when process of moulding is being done as its clipped down on to hard surface that your laying on so you cannot move , felt a bit suppressive (maybe just my nerves?) staff were kind. and reassuring took around 30-40 mins . After all done had CT with new mask on , was ok and apparently is a similar procedure to go through when Radiotherapy starts ? My 6week treatment Radio/Chemo plan has been set for middle of February , so another step forward . Regards Ken
Well you sound on top of it. Onwards and forwards.

Keep in touch
Chris
Chris2123, do hear of people having permanent small tattoos not bad sacrifice if it helps get you better again, I had eye pieces cut out of my mask so at least have the choice of opening or closing my eyes when I have treatment . All the best with yours . Ken
I had the tattoo, they didn't warn me it was coming so a bit of a shock to the system at the time.
Ozzer that's the longest period of time you'll ever have to wear the mask for so as you coped with that the RT sessions will be easy.
Metastatic SCC diagnosed 8th October 2013. Modified radical neck dissection November, thirty-five radiotherapy fractions with 2xCisplatin chemo Jan/Feb 2014. Recurrence on larynx diagnosed July 2020 so salvage laryngectomy in September 2020.
Hi Ozzer
Yes so agree they could have done a full one as long as it made me better did ask about eyes being cut out said they would do it but prob be after first treatment.
Have you had a peg fitted yet got mine week after next not looking forward to that.
Regards
Chris
