Hi Everyone

I got my 3 month scan results today. The tumour had gone but there was an small area of concern. The consultant scoped it and used his camera and was satisfied it was inflammation in the area treated. I will have a further scan in 8 weeks.  The consultant did not seem concerned and it took such a weight of my shoulders.  Carran

  • That’s great news

    Was that a PET/CT?
I had a hotspot in my PET. Consultant scoped and couldn’t  see anything either. Called in a mate from next operating theatre who couldn’t see anything either but he biopsied it anyway. Nothing there. A lot of clinicians consider 12 weeks too early and scan at 16.

Hi Dani .  It was the CT I think where they insert dye then leave you for an hour.  I feel I'm improving and my energy levels are improving.  I'm pleased that there will be another scan in 8 weeks.

  • That's great news Carran.

Like Dani says, it's not unusual to have a hotspot in the area.  Sounds like the consultant is being very thorough.

    Glad you're improving.  Take care.

  • Yep. PET scan. Don’t worry about the next scan. Some places rescan an interval later some biopsy straightaway. Inflammation tends to persist.  You’ll be fine.
