Yesterday my son saw his consultant. He received the results of the emergency MRI he had just before Christmas. The great news is, he is Officially Cancer Free !!!!!!!! Of course he will have regular check ups, and also check ups on his leg where he had DVT after the bone removal, he's still having twice daily blood thinning injections and still on morphine patches etc. He has to now try different foods as he can't chew very well. A muscle in his cheek was weakened during the operation, so he needs to try to build that up so he can eat better. However, all is going well, the consultant is very pleased with his progress, the infections he was getting have all cleared up and he is hoping to start working part time from home in two or three weeks.
Thank you so much to everyone on the forum for all your helpful advice and encouragement during these very difficult months. I can't tell you the relief those 3 words (Officially Cancer Free) mean to us all as a family.
I'll keep in touch now and again, but in the meantime, I hope everyone stays safe and well. Don't give up, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Love
Janet

Oh Janet, I can't tell you how delighted I am to read your news! I've been thinking about you the last couple of days wondering how the appt went. You must all be so relieved, especially to hear that the consultant is pleased with your son's progress.
I hope the recovery continues to go well and your son can build up that cheek muscle to make eating easier and more enjoyable.
My very best wishes to you all.

I’m so pleased to hear this good news, having followed your posts and all your son’s progress. Recovery can be much slower than we would like, but hopefully everything will be in the right direction for your son now. Cathyxx
