My husband, has throat, lung cancer, was given DS1500 about 5 months ago and is showing signs of really slowing down.
Sleeps most of the time, goes to sleep at the drop of a hat.
I asked consultant if he would make New Year and she said "May do".
He is very weak, still going shopping with me but a very short shop now.
Lost a lot of weight, half the size he used to be.
I'm on pins everyday waiting for the signs.
His breathing is getting worse. Breaths very noisily.
Is anyone in the same situation?
Hi Mandy....so sorry to see you here.
There have been a few posts from people caring for their partners who are terminally ill. They might still be looking in. It's an awful situation. Have a look in the carers group. Maybe posting the same message will get you a reply sooner.
My best wishes and I hope you find some strength and peace together
Dani

Hi Mandy
sorry to hear about your husband.. my heart goes out to you.
is there anyone there looking after you ? Please talk to someone it really does help x
I am in a little similar situation. My husband has nasal and sinus cancer stage 4, he’s just finished his 30 session radio and 5 chemo, we were told that worst case scenario for us is 5 months if the cancer has not shrunk but also has secondary cancer growing on the base of his skull and this cancer has shown signs of being advance so we don’t know how the therapy will help stop the cancer. I or we are actually really scared as now we wait to see what happens but yes he’s been more tired than normal but we try to do little things like food shopping even though it’s not fun for him when he can’t taste food, he lost that due to radiotherapy. I of course am really scared for the months we’ve been told he may have .. all we can do is prey for some more time. It’s really hard to see the one person who is always there for you that has alway protects you to now be the one who needs the protection from this horrible disease and I find myself not knowing what I can do or say to make him feel a little better.. he of course does not want to leave me and it’s so hard to hear and fear what may happen at some point..my heart goes out to you and I hope you have a close friend that you can count on to be there for you.
sending lots of hugs x
Ana
