As I head into my third Christmas since my diagnosis I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Christmas.
For some that are just starting their journey, or part way through treatment, this Christmas will feel anything but happy, but there are many on here who are proof that there will be more happy ones to come with friends and family post treatment.
For the moment, for those who need it, we are all here for you. And thank you to all those who have stuck around to support everyone who needs it as they get to grips with their cancer and the changes it makes to all our lives.
Have a peaceful Christmas and gain strength from family and friends - virtual and real.
Happy Christmas to you and everyone else in this lovely community. Cathyxx
Thank you so much and a Happy Christmas to you and your family. This wonderful community has been so helpful for me, as I've watched my son for the last 8 months going through surgery and further treatment for cheek and jaw cancer. Unfortunately he has had many setbacks, but everyone on here has been so supportive and helpful. It has been so good to hear from people of their experiences. My family and I wish everyone on the forum a Happy and Healthy Christmas. We will be spending the day with our son and family, even if he can't eat much. Best wishes to you all x
Janet
Hope everybody has as good a day as they possibly can, handing out big virtual hugs xx
I'm actually going to tackle Christmas dinner myself this year for the first time ever, it's my second Christmas on my own but last year I was still on the PEG. I've never cooked a roast in my life, wish me luck (and my son, he's the only other poor soul who has to eat it)!
Metastatic SCC diagnosed 8th October 2013. Modified radical neck dissection November, thirty-five radiotherapy fractions with 2xCisplatin chemo Jan/Feb 2014. Recurrence on larynx diagnosed July 2020 so salvage laryngectomy in September 2020.
Merry Christmas to everybody here. Whether you’ve smashed it and you’re back in the land of the living or you’ve yet to get there remember it’s all worth it. I hope everyone has a peaceful loving Christmas and that next year is full of joy.
Thanks to everybody who has taken time to help somebody else along the way.
