Hi,Bucephalus here with my latest update 6 weeks post treatment.I have been very fortunate thanks to James Cook Hospital medical personnel handling of my treatment.I have had virtually no pain or side effects. The worst has been the"BAWKING EPISODES",where I wanted to be sick, but none appeared.Luckily these episodes only lasted on average 5 mins before I was prescribed an anti- sickness medicine METOCLOPRAMIDE ORAL SUGAR FREE SOLUTION and it gradually reduced to once a day until it stopped after a few weeks.Still have a sore throat/ voice box for which I take reduced amounts of MORPHINE which I am gradually taking less and after my recent review was found to be caused by a small ulcer due to the RT treatment.Consultant says ulcer healing and he is not worried about it and expects it to have fully healed by my next review on January 20th 2022.As I have said, not I have I been virtually pain free with very few side effects.Neck now looks and feels normal, but I still have to use Factor 50+, 365 days a year as well as a moisturiser in the house.I have always eaten hard+ soft food with no tube needed to keep up my weight and very little loss of taste. .Admittantly you have to push yourself at times to eat,so little and often is best.LUCKY BOY INDEED-if only we were all so fortunate.I hope people with the same/ similar cancer as me are as lucky, preferably more so.I still feel good about donating my CD collection(all 14 if them) to the RT department where I received my treatment.:-their selection was very poor .So if anyone goes to J.C.H.Middlesbrough and like Rock/heavy metal music, try and get into LINAC B unit where I was treated.Lovely people one and all.More to follow as reviews progress.Up to now we are all pleased with my progress.-LONG MAY IT CONTINUE.I hope my experiences help others as the COMMUNITY HELPED ME-you know who you are individually  and I have often praised your assistance for helping make my treatment easier/bearable and I cannot THANK YOU all enough. Those who have to go through it remember -WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT- I BREEZED THROUGH IT -OTHERS MAY NOT,BUT DO NOT DESPAIR HELP IS ALL AROUND YOU,YOU ARE NEVER ALONE 24 HRS A DAY,HELP IS AVAILABLE especially in Teesside,I cannot speak for elsewhere, hopefully it is the same.Remember-ITS GOOD TO TALK,ASK QUESTIONS TO ALLEVIATE FEARS.

Well that's it until the next review/important info available.

You all take care and keep safe.Look after each other.

Ray.(Bucephalus).
