Bucephalus here to give a small update on the progress of my treatment which is in the very early stages.I feel that step by step updates may be more helpful to others who are about to start on their own treatments.Last Friday had to have both my first molars removed due to the.small chance of Osteoradionecrosis giving problems after treatment if an extraction is necessary, especially if you have lost bone in any jaws.Their oral surgeon will advise if necessary.Today I had what I thought I would dread-the mask making and fitting.I am slightly claustrophobic but it was a "DODDLE".As I have said before, talk to the experts, they are there for YOU.When you think about how many people are looking after you before, during and after treament,it's amazing how it makes you more relaxed. All of them make sure you understand every step of the way and to make sure all goes as smoothly and pain free as possible.Remember there will be side effects, but these people will do their best to limit them to a minimum.Next week it's a CT and MRI scan before treatment starts in earnest on September 2nd.More updates as treatment progresses to hopefully make people understand more easily and be be more helpful in overcoming the fears I and they might/have.Hope I do not make it too long- winded. I have a habit of giving "TOO" much info.
Regards to all.
BUCEPHALUS.
Hi. Yes please keep adding. It’s a great idea and a great help for people on a similar road. If you look at MarkEL he has posted a blog in his profile and I direct lots of people there. It keeps it in one place. So that’s one way to do it or to keep updating this thread. That way new people joining know what it’s all about.
Good luck with the rest. You sound like you’ve got your head around this
Best wishes
Dani
