9th July - 3 years ago today I set off for my 1st night in hospital since having my tonsils out in the early 70's
Next day - (3 years tomorrow) I was wheeled down for my 1st op to remove half my bottom jaw and the start of my treatment
Had a lot of ups and downs since then, a period of not thinking I would make my next Christmas but here I am 3 years later, still here and feeling pretty good.
Still got a bit of lymphoedema, still can't open my mouth very wide, have to be careful in the sun, get a bit of heat and discomfort in my neck and still for some inexplicable reason are wobbly on my legs but apart from that are great.
Bought myself a nice new sunhat today and will be having steak and chips in the garden tonight to celebrate
Yours has been one of the accounts and some of the comments most helpful to me during my recent treatment and recovery so thank you for turning your experience into something positive by supporting others, and wishing you all the best for the future.
Hi Pernod.
Remember your posts from the start.
Your dates are similar to me I started radiotherapy 3 years ago on the 14 th of July. Enjoy your steak and chips.

No, but the bloke on the market said it's as good as a Tilly hat.
I told him I didn't have a clue what he meant asked him what a Tilly hat is and what's the difference
About £100 he said
Wow they’ve doubled in price since I got mine !!!!!
Still looks good though.

You weren't trying to sell it.
Take everything these market stall holders with a pinch of salt
I liked it though so treated myself, cost me £20, he probably paid less than a fiver for it.
