Last week had follow up ultrasound and FNA, after PET/CT back at the start of lockdown showed a small hot spot, oncologist phoned yesterday to give me results from MDT to discuss US and biopsy. Basic look of US was of no cause for concern and biopsy was only taken because node, the one that was really big, looked different to other side even though was same size, so they wanted too check to make sure. Opinion from the imaging consultant, even without biopsy was it was likely to be scarring from the treatment rather than anything malignant, and that's exactly what the FNA has shown.
I suppose that now means I'm into the currently cancer free group, next check is in 6 weeks with ENT to have a feel of my lumps and another US in 3 months. Oncologists words were, "good news the results showed nothing other than a tiny trace of blood in the samples, which is nothing, and there is nothing about the US that gives us any cause for concern."
Hopefully this can mean that from now on I just start counting up the time that I remain as cancer free.
All the best everyone,
Kevin
Thanks for the update, its good to know you have been checked over and all is well, the scar tissue has a lot to answer for as quite a few of us have been down that path, onwards and upwards in your recover. All the best, take care.
