My partner had a hemi glossectomy and bilateral neck dissection and flap reconstruction two weeks ago, he came out of hospital to stay with me last night.
He has a stomach feeding tube becaise he can't swallow. Saliva is a big problem for him at the moment causing a lot of distress. His speech is also very affected.
He'll be starting radiotherapy in a few weeks. We hope after that he can learn to eat food again and work on his speech.
I'm trying to be strong but we are both feeling dazed, scared and a bit alone right now, but I guess that's normal.
Just wanted to say hello and connect with other people who are going through the same thing x
