Hello,
my partner has been diagnosed with tonsil and lymph node cancer. He is due to start chemo radiotherapy in 4 weeks time. It is hpv positive. He has given up smoking 2 weeks ago . We have 2 children. The oncologist told him today, she is going for curing this and he had a good outlook of being cured of it. Sorry don’t really know why I have written this, I am just so worried and scared about this whole situation. He has an appointment next week to make his mask. They have said it is localised and has not spread from the neck. Thanks
Welcome to our little community
You are bound to be worried but take heed of what your partners oncologist has said. This cancer has a really high cure rate. I am 7 years clear of treatment myself.
The treatment is tough and he will need a fair bit of support but we are all here to help you along
One of our members started a thread to cover helpful tips for those starting treatment.
It's HERE
Stay with us. There is always somebody about to help and no question is silly
Have a look at my blog too...at the bottom of this post

Thank you I will have a look as soon as the kids are settled in bed.
Hi and welcome i finished the same treatment in January this year ,my tumour was on my tongue but similar diagnosis and treatment i got the all clear in June but am still suffering some side effects but generally i feel well .You are bound to be worried its only natural but survival rates for this kind of Cancer are very high .It wont be easy going through the treatment and recovery but it is doable it took me about 3 months to start feeling better .Make sure he has a feeding tube fitted before treatment starts it becomes difficult to swallow so a feeding tube is essential .Any questions feel free to ask someone will have an answer for you .
Thank you, this group will become my new best friend. Please forgive me if over the next few days I ask lots of questions.

Heavens, that's what we are here for.
I would strongly advise you avoid google ...ask here instead.
What hospital is your partner being treated at. There's probably somebody here who is/was at the same one
