My mom has mouth cancer and part of her jaw was removed during surgery. Doctor used part of her chest to put the flap around the area removed during the surgery
Now effectively about 30-35% of her mouth is blocked, she cant swallow and mostly live on liquid/pureed diet.
Worryingly she has loads of pain around the neck and area where the part was taken for surgery, we visited the doc who ran a few scan , did biopsy and all were clear. We also did physio to try to reudce pain but nothing worked.
It kills me from inside to see her like this. Can anyone share any suggestions or doctors that i can reach out. My mom lives in india
Hi Paddy, how long ago was your mum’s surgery? Physio has to be ongoing sometimes for a long time.
Has your mum asked whether the pain could be a neuropathy? Ordinary pain killers don’t work but there are some that do help.
