Hi all,
just dipping my toe here for a bit of reassurance & a hand to hold in uncertainty.
I have a lump about 3cm in my submandibular gland, confirmed with ultrasound & now I’m waiting for results of the FNA.
I am trying to be busy, brace & positive but inside I have the voice that says it already knows……
a hand to hold would be good
thank you so much xxxx
Hi and welcome. I had cancer of the tongue so slightly different to you but there are other people on the group that have the same diagnoses as you. Feel free to shout out if you need anything. It may be worthwhile putting some information in your profile as matters progress. Best wishes
Thank you so much, Mick x

I’m usually a great sleeper regardless of what life throws at me (and it’s thrown some s***) but early mornings seem to be my new thing x
Animals are family too forum is another group on Macmillan that you might want to join.
Waiting is pants! Take the opportunity to get yourself sorted and keep busy. The results will be back before you know it.
How long do these type of results usually take??? I’ve read so many different things about how long people have waited

Biopsiy results are usually available to the consultant who ordered them in two weeks. It varies a little and allowance has to be made for weekends on top of that. If any further treatment is necessary this result has to be discussed by the relevant multidisciplinary team before you are called back to discuss. MDTs usually meet once a week where the specialists discuss all the patients in their care. So you are looking at two to four weeks
When was the biopsy taken?
