Hello,
A bit of background, my husband had tongue cancer in 2023. Had surgery and CRT and made a good recovery. Two years clear and starts to feel unwell again - pain, difficulty swallowing, speaking again. Long story short, it's back between the tonsil and base of tongue. Surgery and RT not an option so started palliative Immunotherapy in December. This wasn't making a difference so it stopped and he's now had two doses of Chemo. He does seem better, symptoms are better controlled.
Does anyone have any idea of how long this might work for? Will he see the end of the year do you think? Obviously I'm in bits!! He's only 41 and we have 4 children between us (15-22)
Thanks in advance
So sorry Vikki to read this.
I was in touch with a friend who did not respond to immunotherapy but chemotherapy gave him an extra two years, most of it comfortable.
Sadly he died late last year.
Do look for another opinion. He may be eligible for a vaccine trial. It’s worth asking. Where is he being treated?
