Hi,
Have got an appointment to get tongue biopsy results next week. Had biopsy 4 weeks ago. Have been told not cancerous as such but needs further treatment. Also I now have a small hard lump developed where biopsy was done. Is this normal?
Might be scar tissue?

Hi, Got biopsy results today which revealed that there are precancerous changes in the lesions under my tongue and that surgery will be necessary to remove them that should be done within the next 2 - 3 months. Said a wide excision will be necessary and will be done under a ga rather than local. Not the news I was hoping for so feeling a bit off at the moment.
Sorry to hear this i hope everything goes ok for you keep sharing your ups and downs with us we understand and have all suffered bad news at sometime or another .Iam still in recovery after CRT ,7 weeks now i dont see the consultant until 25th March and then it will be a while until i get my results worrying times for us both .

So sorry…. But at least it’s not as bad as you feared. It’s a pity you have to wait so long. It’s not likely to get worse but an early op would have put your mind at rest.
Stay with us. It’s ok to have a main any time you want. There’s usually somebody here. Hugs

Just got letter in post following last appointment. Worse than I thought as I thought it was only a lesions under my tongue. However, letter says diagnosis is severe dysplasia right lateral tongue AND floor of mouth. Pre-op now scheduled for 16th March. Anyone know what I can expect after surgery?
nyone know what I can expect after surgery?
I can’t personally but there are a few who could probably help on the mouth cancer foundation F B group. You could try there.
