Hi everyone,
This is all new to me so please bare with.
I have just finished 6 weeks of radiotherpay with 2 sessions of Chemo treatment. So this is my first week of the recovery proces and just want to know if my sysmptoms are normal. Every time I swallow I feel like there is a rasp at the back of thoat and want to know if this a normal, and how long this normally lasts e.g couple of weeks or longer??
Hi Clare, welcome to the group and well done on finishing your treatment. What you have described sounds completely normal after treatment. Your body has taken one hell of a bashing, which will take a while to heal, it's not possible to say how long these things last, we are all different and heal at different times. You will be having regular check-ups now which are very reassuring, be sure to tell them anything that may be worrying you. Any questions or worries just ask.
Ray.
i like you have recently finished my chemo radiotherapy i had 30 sessions of radiotherapy and 6 sessions of chemo .I am 3 weeks into my recovery and have had nothing but problems with my throat from being sore, not being able to swallow ,dryness, choking ,spasms etc so i would say anything you are feeling in your throat at this early stage is normal .
