I am writing to express my profound frustration with the protracted timeline for my cancer treatment. I was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the right tonsil, p16 Positive T3 N2 M0, following an initial suspicion of tonsillitis.
Despite the urgency of this diagnosis, nearly three months have elapsed without a confirmed start date for my treatment. During this period, the tumor has demonstrably progressed, and a recent PET scan identified two areas of concern in my lungs.
My scheduled radiotherapy for next week has been potentially postponed due to the potential doctors' strike.
I find it contradictory that there is such an emphasis on early detection, yet the necessary infrastructure and resources for timely patient treatment appear to be lacking.

I share your frustration too and such is the state of the NHS

That shouldn’t make any difference as radiographers aren’t involved so fingers crossed

I had a meeting with my oncologist last Wednesday, and he indicated that he may be reassigned to other departments within the hospital. The necessary information for the radiographers has not yet been finalised.
I am concerned that three months have passed without a treatment plan in place.
I have already had two delays, and my condition has noticeably gotten worse.
Thanks
Have you had your mask made yet? If you have your oncologist and radiologist would have written and implemented your treatment plan already. After my first consultation I didn’t see an oncologist till half way through my treatment

Hello, a mask has been fabricated; however, my oncologist indicated that no further procedures have been completed. This information was provided last Wednesday. I requested my nurse to follow up on this matter on Friday. She apologised for the delay and stated that the process typically operates more efficiently.
Thank you
