Hi
im 2 years out from base of tongue cancer surgery with neck dissection then radiotherapy. I went for my first mammogram now wishing I hadn’t I’ve received a letter to go back for extra tests. It does say it’s very common to get a call back after first one but it’s set my anxiety off again! I did lose a lot of weight when I had cancer so hoping it’s this! I had a pet scan 5 months ago so that’s also giving me hope. Wish I hadn’t gone now!! Sorry I know this isn’t head and neck related just wondered if anyone had anything similar. X
Hi Tongue123, don't wish you hadn't gone for the test, it's always best to go for these tests, because if there is anything amiss, it can be caught early. About 3 years ago my wife was called back, to go to the hospital, after a mammogram, they there did another one and told her it wasn't unusual to call people back. Of course, after my cancer we were very worried, however the result came back as clear, hopefully this will be the same for you.

Hi my very first mammogram I was recalled it’s not uncommon. This was 18 years ago just after my 50th I had a small piece of dense breast tissue which they did a core biopsy and the results came back in a matter of days all was ok. Please go for the tests. It’s always always best to have the regular screenings.
Day after my HNC diagnosis as distraught as I was I had my routine mammogram appointment put a brave face on and went for it
