I am 45 and I had ultrasound yesterday and doctor found dark lump on my thyroid gland on scan(U4) .He took biopsy and send letter to Gb so my Gb referred me to thyroid cancer department (surgery).I am so worry .Can you live with thyroid cancer.Why Gp send referral if they dont know if it cancer?

Most thyroid cancers are treated with radioiodine so, Yes.
Why Gp send referral if they dont know if it cancer?
Because he suspects it might be. The hospital will do a biopsy to either confirm or rule out.
